The following entries are from the family Bible use by both John Mary Deaton Monroe and John C. and Bettie Sewell Monroe. The entries appear to have been made by one or two people at different times (using different color inks) apparently at or near the time of the event. Several dates which are confirmable by other sources are alI also accurate.

Monroe/Tedder/Carmichael Bibles
The following entries are from several Bibles belonging to the same Monroe/Tedder/Carmichael family of Talladega (later Clay) County, Alabama.  In the early 1900's, sisters, Mira, Annie, Odelle, and Katheryn Carmichael began giving various old bibles to others in the family.  One of the bibles belonged to Mary Alice and Donald Carmichael and another to Daniel and Margaret Monroe Carmichael.  All of the pages are have been seperated from the original Bibles.  Some of the information is on plain paper.  (Source: Elaine Nagel.)
